CISF took over the security of Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhya Dham (UP) with the total sanctioned strength of 324 personnel. The unit will be headed by a Deputy Commandant rank officer.
In a formal induction ceremony held on August 09, 2024, Shri Praveer Ranjan, ADG/APS, Gaurav Dayal, IAS, Div. Commissioner, Ayodhya, Sh. Vinay Kajla, DIG/NZ AP, Sh. Chandra Vijay Singh, IAS, DM Ayodhya and Sh. Vinod Kumar, APD Ayodhya graced the event. The representatives from the airline operators and various stakeholders were also present during the occasion.
The CISF is committed to provide 24/7 security coverage to Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, further fortifying its security infrastructure. This initiative aims to ensure the secure passage for pilgrims and visitors to the holy city, contributing to a safe and enriching experience for all. The deployment of CISF personnel at the airport will help enhance security and provide a safer environment for passengers and staff alike.
The CISF, renowned for its professionalism, dedication, and expertise in safeguarding critical infrastructure, will play a pivotal role in securing Maharishi Valmiki International Airport. The induction of CISF personnel comes as part of a broader strategy to ensure a secure and hassle-free travel experience for all passengers.
The program was followed by Reflex Shooting demonstration and hoisting of the CISF flag.
With this induction, CISF is now providing security cover to 358 Units and the total airports under CISF security cover have been raised to 68 as on date.
