In a significant step towards strengthening rural healthcare, REC Limited, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, has entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Vikas Bharti Bishunpur through its CSR arm — REC Foundation. The partnership aims to enhance primary healthcare delivery in Jharkhand’s remote and underserved regions.
Under the agreement, REC Foundation has committed ₹1.68 crore for the procurement and deployment of three Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) along with operational expenses for one year. These fully equipped mobile units will provide doorstep access to essential medical care, particularly for vulnerable and marginalized communities across various districts of the state.
MoA was signed in the presence of Ashok Bhagat, Secretary, Vikas Bharti Bishunpur; Jitendra Srivastava, Chairman and Managing Director, REC Limited; and senior officials from both organizations.
The initiative reflects REC Foundation’s continued commitment to bridging healthcare gaps by ensuring quality medical services reach the last mile. The mobile units will act as a vital link between rural populations and healthcare providers, contributing to improved health outcomes and reduced disparities in access to medical facilities.
Through this collaboration, REC Foundation reaffirms its mission to create sustainable social impact by extending essential health services and improving the well-being of communities across Jharkhand.
