On the occasion of ‘Constitution Day’, a special ceremony was organized on Wednesday at the Railway Board Headquarters located in Rail Bhavan. In this dignified event, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Railway Board, Shri Satish Kumar, along with senior officials and employees, recited the Preamble of the Constitution.
Renewed Commitment to the Constitution The programme was held at 11:00 AM in the Board’s Conference Hall. Under the leadership of Chairman Shri Satish Kumar, all personnel present collectively read the Preamble of the Constitution of India. During this, everyone pledged to uphold the fundamental ideals of the Constitution and maintain the unity and integrity of the nation.
Emphasis on Digital Participation According to the circular issued by the Railway Board, in addition to the physical ceremony, emphasis was also laid on celebrating Constitution Day through digital platforms. Officials and employees were encouraged to participate in an online quiz on ‘Constitutional Democracy’ through the websites “MyGov.in” and “constitution75.com”.
They were also urged to read the Preamble online and obtain a certificate. Why is this Day Celebrated? It is noteworthy that on 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India formally adopted the Constitution. In memory of this historic day, 26 November is celebrated every year as ‘Constitution Day’.
