Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL) successfully organized its inaugural Ash User Meet 2025 at Chanakya BNR Hotel, Ranchi, emphasizing innovative and sustainable applications of fly and bottom ash. The event was graced by Chief Guest Shri Arava Rajkamal, IAS, Secretary, Department of Building Construction, Government of Jharkhand, and Shri N.L. Yeotkar, Regional Officer, NHAI Ranchi. Both dignitaries highlighted the cost-effective and versatile reuse of ash, noting its significant role in the construction of 720 km of highways in Jharkhand, utilizing over 2 crore metric tonnes of the material under NHAI projects.
Shri R.K. Singh, CEO, PVUNL, reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to 100% eco-friendly ash utilization. He announced the near completion of PVUNL’s first unit and emphasized the importance of sustainable and efficient ash disposal.
Key contributors, including Shri Sanjay Kujur (EIC, RCD), Shri Devdeep Bose (GM, O&M), Shri Anupam Mukherjee (GM, Project), and Shri Manish Khetrapal (GM, Maintenance & FM), welcomed the dignities. During the session and meet strategies for optimizing ash utilization. Discussions focused on establishing automated fly ash brick and bagging plants to generate revenue and support infrastructure development.
The meet also featured exhibitions of ash-based products, including NTPC’s “Vikalp,” alongside sessions for farmers and students from Birsa Agricultural University, exploring agricultural uses of fly ash. Shri Singh urged stakeholders to collaborate in maximizing ash utilization and promoting sustainability. This landmark meet set the stage for innovative, eco-friendly applications of fly ash in Jharkhand and beyond.
