Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has declared its 765/400/220 kV Pune GIS (Shikrapur) Substation as a ‘Pink Substation’, reaffirming its strong commitment to women empowerment and inclusive leadership in the energy sector. This is the first Pink Substation in POWERGRID’s Western Region-I, marking a new milestone in promoting gender diversity across its operations.
The substation is being led by Shruti Tripathi, Chief Manager, POWERGRID, exemplifying the organisation’s focus on empowering women professionals in critical technical and managerial roles. Pink Substations of POWERGRID are uniquely operated and headed by women executives, reflecting the company’s belief in equality, leadership diversity, and inclusive growth.
Pink Substation at Pune GIS was inaugurated by Vibhay Kumar, Executive Director (Western Region-I), in the presence of senior officials and employees. The inauguration signifies POWERGRID’s continued efforts to create workplaces where women play a central role in advancing the nation’s power infrastructure.
