Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has declared its 400/220 kV Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) at Bidadi as a Pink Substation, reaffirming its commitment to women empowerment and inclusive leadership in the power sector. This is the second Pink Substation under POWERGRID’s Southern Region-II, operated and managed entirely by women executives.
The substation is being led by Reeni Rafi Alapatt, DGM, POWERGRID, symbolising the organisation’s growing focus on creating opportunities for women in technical and leadership roles. The initiative underscores POWERGRID’s belief in gender diversity and equitable participation in mission-critical operations.
Pink Substation was inaugurated by Mukund Sharad Hejib, CGM (I/C), Southern Region-II, in the presence of senior officials and employees of the region. The inauguration marks a milestone in POWERGRID’s continuing efforts to foster an inclusive workplace culture where women professionals thrive in operational and strategic roles.
