It is a moment of great pride and honour for the POWERGRID family as Shri R. K. Tyagi, Chairman and Managing Director, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), has been conferred the “Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa)” degree by Punjab Engineering College (Deemed University), Chandigarh.
The prestigious honour was awarded in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the growth and transformation of India’s Power Sector, particularly in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Science, and Technology.
Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, conferred the honorary degree upon Shri Tyagi during the 55th Convocation Ceremony of the institution held in Chandigarh.
Under Dr. Tyagi’s visionary leadership, POWERGRID has played a pivotal role in strengthening the national transmission network, promoting technological innovation, and driving India’s energy transition towards sustainability.
