Oil India Limited (OIL) participated in a high-impact event jointly organized by UNICEF, Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and Young Indians (YI) to promote CSR collaboration and government convergence to strengthen foundational education among girls in Assam.
Event was delivered by the Chief Secretary of Assam, Dr. Ravi Kota, IAS, who emphasized the importance of education and community-driven initiatives to ensure equitable access to quality education.
Prominent dignitaries present included Ronak Khetawat, President, CII-Young Indians; Arjan D. Wagt, Deputy Representative, UNICEF India; and cricket legend Jhulan Goswami, ICC Ambassador. Senior representatives from various corporate and development organizations also participated, highlighting the importance of collective CSR action for social impact.
Representing OIL, General Manager (Public Affairs) Diganta Kumar Bora joined the panel discussion on “Localization for Learning – Fundamental Education for Tea and Flood Context”. He shared insights on OIL’s continuous efforts to enhance education in rural and tea growing areas of Assam through targeted CSR interventions, capacity building programs, and partnerships with local stakeholders.
Event underscored the need for collaborative frameworks that integrate government priorities with private sector and civil society initiatives to address learning challenges, especially in flood-affected and disadvantaged communities.
Through such engagements, OIL continues to reinforce its commitment to inclusive education, women’s empowerment and sustainable community development in line with India’s broader societal progress and education goals.
