Collaboration to boost India’s energy transition and self-reliance through sustainable mineral development
Oil India Limited (OIL) has entered into a strategic institutional partnership with the Government of Arunachal Pradesh to jointly undertake the exploration and development of critical minerals in the PHOP Block.
The initiative was formally launched in Itanagar, led by Dasanglu Pul, Minister of Science & Technology, A.K. Singh, Secretary (Geology & Mining), Arunachal Pradesh, and Binayananda Bharali, RCE (Officiating), OIL, in the presence of senior officials from OIL and the Centre for Earth Sciences & Hydrocarbon Studies (CES & HS), Arunachal Pradesh.
This collaboration marks a significant step towards strengthening India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat mission, focusing on the identification, evaluation, and development of critical mineral resources that are essential for the nation’s energy transition and industrial growth.
The partnership aims to promote clean energy initiatives and support emerging sectors such as electric vehicles (EVs) and advanced manufacturing, through sustainable and responsible exploration practices that ensure long-term resource security and environmental stewardship.
