Oil India Limited (OIL) and Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited (IGGL) have signed a hook-up agreement to connect OIL’s natural gas fields in Upper Assam with the Duliajan Feeder Line of the North East Gas Grid. The agreement also covers the evacuation of natural gas from OIL’s DSF block in Tripura through IGGL’s 12” NB x 86 km Agartala-Tulamura natural gas pipeline.
This agreement represents a significant advancement in OIL’s vision to bolster energy infrastructure in the Northeast region and underscores the company’s commitment to promoting a gas-based economy in the nation.
The signing ceremony took place on August 31, 2024, at OIL’s field headquarters in Duliajan. The event was attended by Dr. Ranjit Rath, CMD of OIL, all the Functional Directors of OIL, and senior officials from both OIL and IGGL. On behalf of OIL, the agreement was formally signed by Shri Anfor Ali Haque, Resident Chief Executive of OIL Duliajan, and Dr. Ajit Kumar Thakur, CEO of IGGL.
