NTPC SRHQ commemorated National Sports Day today with an array of activities aimed at promoting sports and encouraging healthy living among its employees.
The event was honored by the presence of Shri Prem Parkash, RED (WR-1 & South), who served as the Chief Guest. Employees participated in a range of sports, including table tennis, cricket, carrom, and chess. The highlight of the day was a motivational talk by Poorna Malavath, the youngest female mountaineer to scale Mount Everest.
Poorna achieved this remarkable feat at just 13 years and 11 months old and has since conquered the highest peaks on each of the seven continents. Her journey, marked by determination and resilience despite her humble beginnings, left a profound impact on the NTPC community.
In his welcome address, Shri SN Panigrahi, GM-HR, emphasized the significance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, noting the vital role that sports play in achieving this. Shri Prem Parkash also urged employees to embrace sports as a regular part of their lives.
