NTPC Bongaigaon marked its 20th Raising Day on January 16, 2025, with a series of celebratory events. Shri Arnab Maitra, Head of Project (HoP), led the celebrations by hoisting the NTPC flag, followed by the singing of the NTPC Geet, a cake-cutting ceremony, and the release of balloons.
Recognizing Contributions and Achievements
In his address, Shri Maitra highlighted NTPC Bongaigaon’s significant contributions to the development of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), the Northeast, and the nation as a whole. He lauded the station’s commendable achievements, including:
- Generating 3,848.64 million units (MU) of energy.
- Achieving a Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 73.98%.
- Maintaining a Declared Capacity (DC) of 93.34%.
The station has successfully kept critical operational parameters like Auxiliary Power Consumption (APC) and specific oil consumption within acceptable limits. Additionally, its specific water consumption stands at an efficient 2.55 liters per kilowatt-hour (kWh).
Safety and Performance Excellence
NTPC Bongaigaon has earned notable accolades, securing the 4th position in NTPC’s Safety Evaluation Matrix (SEM) and Performance Evaluation Matrix (PEM). Shri Maitra praised the station’s dedicated team of seasoned professionals and dynamic young executives, attributing these rankings to their hard work and commitment.
He urged employees to continue striving for excellence, reinforcing NTPC Bongaigaon’s reputation as a professionally driven and value-based organization.
Community and Employee Engagement
The celebrations were attended by Shri Debabrata Kar, General Manager (O&M), Shri Asutosh Biswas, General Manager (Operation), and other dignitaries, including:
- Smt. Kasturi Maitra, President of the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club.
- Smt. Soumya Kar, Vice President of the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club.
