Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Binbag Environmental Services Pvt. Ltd. at India Energy Week 2026 (IEW 2026) to collaborate on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) activities following the commissioning of NRL’s Polypropylene (PP) Plant.
The partnership aims to establish a technology-enabled, traceable, and auditable plastic waste management ecosystem, aligned with the guidelines of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The collaboration will facilitate EPR-compliant data reporting and strengthen circular economy linkages for the collection, processing, and recycling of post-consumer plastic waste.
Under the MoU, NRL and Binbag will work towards building robust systems that support responsible plastic lifecycle management, enhance regulatory compliance, and promote environmentally sustainable practices across the petrochemical value chain. The initiative is expected to contribute to improved transparency, accountability, and efficiency in plastic waste management.
The collaboration reflects NRL’s commitment to sustainable petrochemical operations, responsible growth, and environmental stewardship.
