Shri R.K. Chaudhary, CMD of NHPC and SJVNL, met with H.E. Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, Hon’ble Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal, at the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi. During the meeting, Shri Chaudhary updated the Minister on the progress of NHPC’s hydropower projects in Nepal, including the 800 MW West Seti, 460 MW SR-6, and 624 MW Phukot Karnali Hydro Electric Projects.
He also outlined the challenges faced by SJVNL in implementing the 900 MW Arun-3 Hydro Electric Project.
Dr. Deuba assured her full support for the successful execution of NHPC’s projects in Nepal and promised to facilitate the resolution of issues related to the Arun-3 project to ensure its timely commissioning.
The meeting was attended by H.E. Acting Ambassador of Nepal to India, Dr. Surendra Thapa; Shri R.P. Goyal, Director (Finance), NHPC; Shri Rajat Gupta, Executive Director (SBD&C), NHPC; and Shri R. Agarwal, Executive Director (NHPC Nepal Projects).
