National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) held its 68th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, marking a historic year of financial and operational achievements. The cooperative reported a record turnover of ₹26,946.59 crore and a net profit of ₹565.22 crore for FY 2024–25, the highest in its history. A 15% dividend for member societies was also declared.
Delegates cheered as Chairman Jethabhai Ahir announced that NAFED had achieved 15% growth in net profit over the previous year, crossing new milestones in procurement, exports, and retail expansion. The AGM also celebrated the onboarding of PACS for procurement, a move welcomed enthusiastically by members.
The meeting was attended by prominent cooperative leaders including NCUI and IFFCO President Dileep Sanghani, KRIBHCO Chairman Sudhakar Chowdhary, senior directors Dr. Chandrapal Singh Yadav, Bijendra Singh, Vishal Singh, Sunil Kumar Singh, Vice Chairmen Tarlok Singh and Siddappa S. Hotti, and NAFED Managing Director Deepak Agrawal, IAS, among others.
NAFED’s performance underscores its growing role as a leading cooperative in supporting farmers, boosting exports, and strengthening food security.
• Procurement under PSS: 50.77 lakh MT of pulses and oilseeds worth ₹31,493.35 crore.
• Onion procurement: 2.24 lakh MT worth ₹615.96 crore.
• Exports: ₹1,632 crore earned through rice shipments to Senegal, Gambia, Côte d’Ivoire, and Bhutan.
• Distribution: 1.88 lakh MT of processed pulses worth ₹1,300.42 crore supplied to Army, CAPFs, and welfare schemes.
• Seed business: Surpassing ₹62.24 crore across multiple crop varieties.
Managing Director Deepak Agrawal highlighted NAFED’s tech-driven initiatives, including:
• The E-Samriddhi Portal, which registered 43 lakh farmers, directly benefiting 2.2 lakh.
• Strengthened ERP and e-auction platforms, with AI/ML adoption for transparency.
• Expanding retail footprint with over 50 NAFED Bazaar Stores, targeting 500 by 2025 through partnerships with IOCL, IRCTC, Army, CSD, and Amul.
Beyond numbers, the AGM spotlighted farmer-centric growth. Suggestions from delegates included calls for higher dividend payouts and support for cooperative-run PDS shops. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice Chairman Tarlok Singh, reflecting optimism
