Ministry of Labour & Employment signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zepto today to enhance employment opportunities and youth employability through the National Career Service (NCS) portal. The event was held in New Delhi in the presence of the Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya.
The collaboration will allow Zepto to post 10,000 job opportunities during the MoU tenure, providing a structured pipeline of urban employment options for youth, women, and first-time job seekers. The partnership also integrates platform economy opportunities with formal employment, linking gig workers with e-Shram registration, social security schemes, upskilling, and career development initiatives.
In his address, the Union Minister highlighted that the NCS platform has mobilized nearly 7.5 crore vacancies since its inception and connects over 52 lakh registered employers with job-seekers. He emphasized that upcoming AI-driven and digital enhancements on the NCS portal will help candidates discover opportunities aligned with their skills, qualifications, and location preferences.
The Secretary of the Ministry noted that the partnership with Zepto will strengthen formalization and provide secure, long-term employment. Zepto’s co-founder highlighted the role of this collaboration in creating an inclusive and skilled workforce for the new-age economy, contributing to India’s economic growth.
This MoU follows similar partnerships with Amazon, Swiggy, Rapido, and Quikr Jobs, which have already mobilized around five lakh vacancies on the NCS portal, reinforcing the Ministry’s mission to expand access to dignified, technology-driven employment for India’s youth.
