L&T Q3 PAT Falls 4% to ₹3,215 Crore on One-Time Labour Code Provision

Infrastructure major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Wednesday reported a 4.2 per cent decline in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) at ₹3,215 crore for the December quarter, impacted by a one-time provision towards employee benefits arising from the implementation of the new labour codes.

The company had posted a consolidated PAT of ₹3,359 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, L&T said in a filing to the BSE. The consolidated PAT for the quarter includes a one-time exceptional provision of ₹1,191 crore related to employee benefits under the new labour codes.

Despite the profit decline, consolidated revenue from operations rose 10 per cent year-on-year to ₹71,450 crore in the October–December period, compared with ₹64,668 crore a year ago. The growth was driven by steady execution across businesses within L&T’s projects and manufacturing portfolio.

Total expenses during the quarter increased to ₹65,729.76 crore, up from ₹60,302.62 crore in the year-ago period.

As of December 31, 2025, the Group’s consolidated order book stood at ₹7,33,161 crore, marking a 30 per cent increase over December 2024. International orders accounted for 49 per cent of the total order book, underscoring strong overseas demand.
