Leadership Series 2: A Window to the World with Dr. Sujatha Narayan
At our second Leadership Series event, Dr. Sujatha Narayan, Senior Vice President and Regional Leader for India at Wabtec Corporation, shared her insights on promoting gender neutrality and the role of women in modern manufacturing. Shri Shantanu Roy, CMD of BEML LTD., welcomed her and highlighted the importance of acknowledging women’s contributions in creating a better organizational ecosystem.
Dr. Narayan emphasized the significance of embracing workplace diversity, promoting respect and dignity, and valuing diverse perspectives to foster a safe and supportive community. She stressed the need to provide women with opportunities to explore their talents in an industrial environment, promoting a cultural shift within organizations that nurtures mutual respect between genders. She pointed out that diversity and inclusion create a positive working environment, allowing women to reach their full potential.
One inspiring example she shared was the “Pink Line,” a unique initiative in the engineering sector where an entire assembly line is managed by an all-women team. Additionally, she addressed crucial topics such as effective management of community services (CSR), mental well-being, physical health, and health camps, offering valuable advice to the audience.
