India and Nepal Strengthen Science and Technology Cooperation with New MoU

India and Nepal have deepened their scientific collaboration with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST). The agreement, formalized on 18th February 2025 at CSIR-National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi, aims to enhance bilateral cooperation in various scientific and technological fields.

The MoU will focus on joint research, exchange of scientific information, and collaborative projects in areas such as biological sciences, water and environmental technologies, material sciences, nanotechnology, and alternative energy. The partnership will also include training programs, workshops, and capacity-building initiatives.

This renewed cooperation builds on the long-standing relationship between CSIR and NAST, which dates back to 1994. Both parties are committed to leveraging scientific advancements to drive innovation and economic growth for the benefit of both nations.

The agreement was exchanged by Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, Director General of CSIR, and Prof. Dr. Dilip Subba, Vice-Chancellor of NAST.
