The IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) Campaign on the PM-JANMAN mission is being launched by the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs to raise awareness and ensure the saturation of government schemes in Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) areas. Running from August 23rd to September 10th, 2024, the campaign aims to reach around 44.6 lakh individuals across 10.7 lakh households in 28,700 PVTG habitations within 194 districts across 17 states and the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The campaign is focused on saturating PVTG families with key individual entitlements and ensuring that basic facilities reach these communities. Various activities, including Beneficiary Saturation Camps and Health Camps, will be organized in local hubs like Gram Panchayats, Anganwadi centers, and Vandhan Vikas Kendras. The campaign also involves active participation from organizations such as MyBharat volunteers, Nehru Yuvak Kendras, NSS, and SHGs.
Key initiatives include the distribution of PM JANMAN Intervention Cards in local languages, thematic wall paintings, and awareness material in tribal languages. The campaign will ensure that benefits from various schemes, such as scholarships, maternity benefits, and Kisan Credit Cards, reach eligible beneficiaries. Additionally, success stories from beneficiaries will be shared to inspire others in the community.
District-level officers have been assigned to supervise the campaign, while State-level officers will coordinate with different departments. Orientation workshops for officers and staff will be conducted, and Tribal Research Institutes will assist in planning and executing the activities. The mission has a budgetary outlay of Rs. 24,104 crores for the development of PVTGs from FY 2023-24 to 2025-26.
