General Manager Shri Sushil Kumar Srivastava participated in Shramdan
On 02.10.2024, a mega Shramdan program was organized under Swachh Bharat Diwas on the occasion of birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri at Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW). General Manager Shri Sushil Kumar Srivastava paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by offering flowers on his photograph, and also celebrated the birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri ji by garlanding his statue, installed in the Administration Building compound.
After this, in the mega shramdan organized at Surya Sarovar, General Manager Shri Srivastava himself contributed to cleanliness by sweeping. Employees and officers of various departments including Railway Protection Force, Civil Defense Organization, St. John’s Ambulance Brigade, Bharat Scout & Guide, Cub and Bulbul and students of BLW Inter College also participated in this program. Everyone together cleaned the Sarovar and gave it a beautiful look.
General Manager in his address underlined the importance of cleanliness and said, “Cleanliness is an integral part of our life and this will be our true tribute to Bapu. We should make cleanliness a part of our life so that the dream of Swachh Bharat can be realised.”

Gupta, Chief Design Engineer, Diesel, Shri R.R. Prasad, Chief Design Engineer Project Shri Anurag Gupta, Chief Quality Assurance Manager Shri Praveen Kumar, Chief Electrical Engineer Inspection, Shri Arun Kumar Sharma, Chief Electrical Service Engineer Bhardwaj Chaudhary, Chief Mechanical Engineer, QMS, Shri Ram Janm Choubey, Deputy General Manager Shri Anuj Katiyar, Public Relations Officer Shri Rajesh Kumar, Joint Secretary of Staff Council Shri Shrikant Yadav and other Employees along with members of Surya Sarovar Conservation Club were present.
Under Swachhta Pakhwada, a workshop was also organized in BLW, in which employees and officers were motivated to keep the premises clean. Apart from this, information messages regarding not spreading garbage were put up on the notice board so that people can be made aware of cleanliness.
This event proved to be successful as a sign of increasing awareness towards cleanliness in BLW.
