DMRC Managing Director Vikas Kumar said the initiative “simplifies daily ticketing and reflects our focus on a unified digital mobility solution.”
NBSL Managing Director and CEO Lalitha Nataraj highlighted that “bringing UPI convenience directly into the daily lives of commuters supports public transport systems in becoming smarter and more digitally empowered.”
Alongside UPI ticketing, the Delhi Metro Sarthi app now offers:
- Booking for “Jai Hind Sound and Light Show” at Red Fort with no convenience fee
- Integrated Noida Metro (NMRC) ticketing for seamless travel
- DTC bus ticketing via ONDC for multi-modal journeys across NCR
- Recharge of Airtel Payments Bank RuPay NCMC card, with instant balance updates
Airtel Payments Bank MD and CEO Anubrata Biswas noted that this recharge integration strengthens digital fare solutions and supports hassle-free mobility.
With 7 million passenger journeys daily and more than 70% already using digital ticketing, DMRC’s UPI integration is expected to cut queues, accelerate adoption of cashless travel, and unify public transport payments across NCR.
DMRC plans to continue enhancing the Sarthi app as a single digital platform for metro, bus, and regional transit, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive, technology-driven commuter convenience.
