Mr B. K. Das, DS & DG (ECS), visited Bharat Electronics Limited’s Pune Unit today, where he was briefed by Mr G. S. N. Murthy, Executive Director (Pune), on the unit’s growth trajectory and key development projects. The briefing highlighted BEL Pune’s collaborative work with all seven DRDO clusters, with particular emphasis on projects under the ECS cluster.
During the visit, the DG observed that BEL Pune has significant potential to evolve into a one-stop solution for laser and allied technologies. He suggested the establishment of comprehensive facilities for subsystem- and platform-level testing, including advanced simulations under near-field operational conditions such as tank-based simulations, to further strengthen capability development.
Emphasising long-term sustainability, Mr Das stressed that BEL must pursue future technology development with the same commitment and intensity demonstrated in achieving turnover and performance targets. He also underscored the importance of putting in place robust mechanisms to ensure continuity, knowledge preservation and retention of domain expertise across the entire product life cycle, from development to sustenance.
The visit concluded with Mr Das planting a sapling at the Pune Unit, symbolising BEL’s commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible growth alongside technological advancement.
