Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) conducted a Business Development & Strategic Review Meeting with Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal (GCT) operators under the chairmanship of Shri Praveen Kumar, Managing Director, DFCCIL.
The meeting was attended by Shri Shobhit Bhatnagar, Director (Operations & Business Development); Shri Anurag Sharma, Director (Infrastructure); Shri Sandesh Srivastava, Executive Director (Projects); Shri Manish Kumar Awasthy, Executive Director (Infrastructure); Shri Ajay Kumar, Executive Director (Asset Management); Shri S. P. Verma, GGM (BD & BA); Shri Amit Sanger, GGM (Electrical); Shri Vikas Srivastava, GGM (S&T); Shri Nitin Bansal, GGM (Operations); Shri Roshan Singh, GM (Business Development); CGMs of all DFCCIL units, and other senior officers.
The discussions focused on expediting the construction and commissioning of Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminals, anticipated commissioning timelines, infrastructure procurement status, expected modal shift from road to rail, and identification of new prospective GCTs along the corridor.
At present, five Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals have been commissioned, while approvals have been granted for sixteen additional terminals. The Managing Director urged all stakeholders to accelerate commissioning efforts to support the envisioned modal shift from road to rail, in line with Indian Railways’ Vision 2030.
Leading logistics stakeholders including CONCOR, CWC, DP World, Globecoast, Emirates Logistics & Terminals, SKN, Pristine, and Kanpur Logistics shared detailed updates on their GCT projects at strategic locations.
The engagement reaffirmed DFCCIL’s commitment to strengthening India’s freight logistics ecosystem, enhancing last-mile connectivity, and promoting sustainable, rail-based cargo movement aligned with the nation’s multimodal logistics vision.
