The transfer of the ‘Ammunition Cum Torpedo Cum Missile Barge, LSAM 18’, part of the 11x ACTCM Barge Project, constructed by MSME Shipyard, M/s Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd, Thane for the Indian Navy, was executed on March 28, 2024, at Naval Dockyard, Mumbai for NAD(Karanja). The Induction Ceremony was overseen by Cmde Vikram Bora, ND(Mbi)/ GM(Tech).

The agreement to construct 11 X ACTCM Barges was formalized between MoD and M/s Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd, Thane on March 5, 2021. The inclusion of these Barges will enhance the operational capabilities of the IN by streamlining the transportation, embarkation, and disembarkation of articles/ammunition to IN Ships, both at jetties and outer harbors.

These Barges are meticulously designed and constructed in compliance with the relevant Naval Rules and Regulations of the Indian Register of Shipping. Model testing of the Barge during the design phase was conducted at Naval Science and Technological Laboratory, Visakhapatnam. These Barges serve as proud symbols of the Make in India initiative of the Government of India.
