Of this amount, Rs 452 crore was allocated towards the procurement of HEMMs to strengthen mining operations and improve operational efficiency.

Coal India Advances Diversification Projects

Coal India continued to invest in diversification initiatives, spending more than Rs 739 crore on projects covering solar energy, critical minerals, coal gasification and thermal power generation.

The company said mine infrastructure development, plant and machinery, land acquisition and diversification were the principal components of its capital expenditure during the first half. Together, these segments accounted for more than 79% of total capex.
