Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), visited the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp 2026 at Delhi Cantt on 19 January 2026, where he was received with a Guard of Honour by cadets from the army, navy, and air force wings.
In his address, Admiral Tripathi recalled his own days as an NCC cadet and congratulated the participants for their selection to the prestigious camp. He praised the cadets’ parade turnout, precision drills, band performance, and cultural presentations, giving them a “Bravo Zulu” — a naval expression for exceptional performance.
Highlighting NCC’s role in shaping youth with values of patriotism, discipline, and social responsibility, the CNS lauded the contribution of over 72,000 cadets during Operation Sindoor. He also appreciated innovative training initiatives introduced by NCC, including programs in drone operations and cyber awareness.
Quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Admiral Tripathi said, “India’s youth are a force for global good,” and encouraged cadets to shape Viksit Bharat by 2047. Drawing from his own experience, he shared five life lessons: self-discipline, continuous learning, physical and moral courage, teamwork, and perseverance.
The CNS reaffirmed the Indian Navy’s commitment to supporting NCC cadets through initiatives such as the Puneet Sagar Abhiyan, All India Nausainik Camps, seamanship and sailing training, ship attachments, overseas deployments, and educational visits to naval assets. He urged cadets to uphold NCC’s ethos of unity, discipline, and integrity.
As part of the visit, Admiral Tripathi witnessed a band performance by Birla Balika Vidyapeeth cadets, toured the Flag Area showcasing India’s cultural and developmental diversity, and visited a technical and academic exhibit featuring static and functional models of ships and aircraft. Cadets also presented a cultural show reflecting the NCC motto, “Rashtriya Pratham, Kartavya Nishthh Yuva”.
