Haridwar/Taipei, November 6, 2025: In a remarkable global achievement, BHEL’s Heavy Electrical Equipment Plant (HEEP), Haridwar, has won the prestigious Gold Award at the 50th International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC 2025) held in Taipei, Taiwan, from November 3 to 6, 2025.
The convention, themed “Continuing Implementation of QCC Activity, Moving Toward a Brighter Future of the World,” brought together over 800 teams from 14 countries, celebrating world-class innovations in quality improvement and operational excellence.
Team QC-771 ‘TARUN’ from BHEL Haridwar’s Electrical Machines (EM) Group secured the Gold Award for designing and implementing an innovative machining fixture that significantly reduces cycle time and enhances the quality of the spring plate used in Lift Irrigation Motors up to 145 MW.
Ranjan Kumar, General Manager & Head (HEEP & CFFP), congratulated the team for their outstanding performance, commending the dedication and innovation that continue to elevate BHEL’s global reputation.
Team TARUN includes Rajesh Kumar (Facilitator), Gaurav Ojha (Leader), Birendra Singh, Prabhat Kumar, Som Dutt, Yogesh Kumar, and Reshu Chauhan, who worked collaboratively under the BHEL Quality Month theme – “Collaborate, Innovate, Excel – Shaping a Quality Future, Together.”
Key guidance and mentorship were provided by Narender Singh Rana (GM, EM), Prasanta Majee (GM, Quality & BE), Pradipta Purkayastha (DGM, BEX), and Pankaj Kumar (Unit Coordinator), whose leadership played a vital role in the team’s success.
This milestone adds to a string of recognitions for BHEL Haridwar, including the CII EXIM Bank Award for Business Excellence 2024 and 21 Gold Awards at the Haridwar Chapter Convention on Quality Concepts (HCCQC 2025). These achievements reaffirm that BHEL’s quality and innovation practices are on par with global industry standards, underscoring its commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
