Hon’ble Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah Honors BSF Personnel for Their Bravery and Commitment
General Chauhan Trophy and Other Awards Presented for Excellence in Service and Operations
60th Border Security Force (BSF) Establishment Day Parade was organized at the Border Training Center in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The event was graced by the Hon’ble Union Home and Cooperation Minister, Shri Amit Shah, who praised the BSF personnel for their unwavering dedication to national security.
During the parade, 12 BSF contingents participated, including the camel-mounted units, and showcased their operational readiness with displays of discipline and coordination. The parade featured the BSF’s artillery regiment, camel-mounted bands, equestrian units, dog squads, and other contingents. The air wing, including drones, and specialized units also demonstrated their multi-dimensional progress in service.
Shri Lajit Singh Choudhary, Director General of the Border Security Force, addressed the parade, acknowledging the sacrifices and dedication of the BSF personnel. He also highlighted the efforts made to strengthen security at India’s international borders, especially along the India-Bangladesh frontier, to prevent smuggling and infiltration.
The event also included the presentation of prestigious awards such as the General Chauhan Trophy for excellence in service to the 76th Battalion of BSF, the Maharana Pratap Trophy for outstanding border management to Jammu’s frontier team, and the Avinash Kumar Trophy for excellence in training and sports.
Hon’ble Minister Shri Amit Shah, while attending the ceremony, commended the BSF for its role as the first line of defense in safeguarding India’s borders. He praised the force’s efforts to enhance national security and its exemplary service in various critical areas, including border management, internal security, and disaster management.
At the conclusion of the parade, the BSF personnel presented outstanding performances, including a demonstration by the camel units, dog squads, motorbike teams, and cultural performances such as the Rajasthani Ghoomar dance, which captivated the dignitaries and attendees.
This event marks an important milestone in recognizing the commitment and sacrifices of the men and women of the Border Security Force, reaffirming their role in ensuring a secure and prosperous nation.
