In a concerted effort to fortify leadership, managerial acumen, emotional intelligence, and social aptitude, as well as foster cohesive team dynamics among mid-level officers of the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), a comprehensive five-day mid-career training program was organized at THDCIL’s HRD Center in Rishikesh. The program, conducted from March 18th to 22nd, 2024, saw the participation of twenty Chief Engineers from the CEA.
Sh. R. K. Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director of THDC India Limited, while informing about the program underscored the paramount importance of leadership skills and shed light on the latest technologies shaping the power sector and market. He further added that such training programs play a pivotal role in nurturing talent, enhancing competencies, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within organizations.
He also added that the THDCIL’s HRD Centre at Rishikesh is renowned for providing world-class facilities and state-of-the-art technologies, making it an ideal venue for organizing professional training programs for various organizations and CPSEs. By leveraging these top-notch amenities, THDCIL ensures that participants receive a conducive learning environment conducive to their growth and development.
The valedictory ceremony on March 22nd, 2024, was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri Ghanshyam Prasad, Chairman of CEA, and Shri Bhupendra Gupta, Director (Technical) at THDCIL.
Sh. Prasad during the occasion added that by investing in the professional growth and skill development of its workforce, entities like THDCIL and CEA pave the way for sustainable growth, innovation, and excellence in their respective domains, thereby contributing significantly to the nation’s progress and prosperity.
Sh. Bhupender Gupta, Director (Technical) THDCIL, highlighted the program’s pedagogy, which was primarily activity-based, aimed at cultivating and enhancing a growth mindset among participants.
Under the expert guidance of professors from IIM Kashipur, the program delved deep into leadership principles, social skills, and team dynamics, equipping CEA officers with the necessary tools and insights to navigate complex professional challenges effectively. Shri S.K. Sharma, AGM (HRD), diligently oversaw the program’s execution, ensuring seamless coordination and delivery of sessions. The program also highlighted the best-class facilities and state of art technologies at THDCIL’s HRD Centre.
Moreover, the program incorporated site visits to significant projects such as the 1000 MW Tehri HEP in Tehri and the Green Hydrogen Pilot-based project in Rishikesh, providing participants with firsthand exposure to cutting-edge technologies and innovative initiatives in the power sector.
