In a swift nighttime operation, the Indian Coast Guard Station Veraval carried out the evacuation of a severely unwell individual (Mr. K Ponnusamy, Age – 47) from Tug ABS Anokhi, situated 10 kilometers offshore from Veraval, on March 26, 2024. Upon receiving information about the medical emergency, the ICG Interceptor Craft C-121 was immediately dispatched from Veraval by the ICG Maritime Rescue Sub Centre Veraval, with a medical team aboard. Upon arrival at the scene, the ICG craft established communication with the tug, and the critically unwell patient was efficiently and safely transferred to the ICG Craft for evacuation to Govt. Hospital, Veraval, for further medical care.
