Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, Chief of the Air Staff, paid a visit to the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington on March 22, 2024. During his visit, he addressed student officers from the Indian Armed Forces and Friendly Foreign Countries who are currently undergoing the 79th Staff Course, as well as the permanent staff of DSSC.

In his address, the CAS discussed the challenges facing the Indian Air Force, its capability development plan, and the importance of jointmanship. He emphasized the transformation of the IAF into a modern and future-ready Aerospace Force, aligning with the vision outlined in the IAF doctrine. This vision entails fostering an agile and adaptive Air Force to deliver decisive aerospace power in support of national interests. The CAS highlighted the significant role played by the IAF in evacuating the Indian diaspora from conflict zones and in conducting disaster relief operations. Additionally, he underscored the valuable air power insights gleaned from ongoing conflicts such as the Russia-Ukraine War and the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Furthermore, the CAS received a briefing on the ongoing training initiatives and the emphasis on jointmanship at DSSC, which was well received and appreciated.
