Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was organised at Central Hospital NCR on 22-03-2024 in Commemoration of Railway Hospital Centenary Celebration in collaboration with AMA Blood Bank Prayagraj.

Blood Donation Camp event serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank the voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood.

The Railway Hospital Prayagraj is completing a monumental milestone, celebrating 100 years of dedicated service within the Indian Railway Health Services this March 2024. To honor this significant achievement, a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was organized at Central Hospital/North Cenral Railway/Prayagaraj on 22-03-2024.

The essence of voluntary blood donation lies in the altruistic spirit of individuals who generously contribute to saving lives. Through this camp, we aim not only to commemorate the journey of the Railway Hospital but also to underscore the invaluable act of giving back to society.

The blood donation camp was inaugurated by Principal Chief Medical Director, NCR Prayagraj Dr J P Rawat, who led and motivated the volunteers in blood donation by expounding on the importance of blood donation and its benefit to donors as well as recipient. In his Inaugural speech PCMD Dr J P Rawat emphasized the need for more such Camps in a country with vast population who are below poverty line and expressed satisfaction that the department is humbly working towards a social cause. He emphasized the importance of blood donation as a noble cause, as by donating blood, the donor saves lives of not only one but four people as the different components can be used in different people.

Total 58 blood donations were done during the camp. The response of the Medical staff /Running Staff / NCR Officers/Doctors of the CH/NCR/PRYJ was overwhelming. Principal Chief Medical Director expressed his heartiest thanks to the Medical Director Dr Sanjeev Kumar Handoo, ACHD Dr Usha S P Yadav , ACHD Dr Kalpana Mishra CH/NCR , /Doctors/ Hospital staff/Running Staff, NCR Officers present on the occasion.

Medical Director Dr S K Handoo motivated the donors and expressed his thanks for making the programme great success. He further added, and asked to everybody to unite in this endeavor to make the Blood Donation Camp a resounding success, embodying the spirit of service and compassion that defines our railway community.
