Jindal Steel has achieved a national milestone by becoming India’s first diversified large enterprise and the first integrated steel manufacturer to be recognised as an Awarding Body by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET).
The recognition was formalised through an agreement between NCVET and Jindal Steel, granting the company PAN-India jurisdiction as an awarding body in the Large Indian Enterprise/MNC category. This authorisation empowers the company to create and implement industry-aligned standards, introduce structured skilling programmes, and accelerate the development of India’s future workforce.
Company representatives stated that this achievement underscores Jindal Steel’s leadership in advancing vocational education and skilling standards nationwide, reinforcing its role as a pioneer in the Indian steel and infrastructure sector.
The agreement also ensures that all training standards and qualifications developed by Jindal Steel will be recognised for credit under the National Credit Framework, a key component of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
According to NCVET officials, the recognition sets a new benchmark for collaboration between industry and skill development authorities, supporting India’s drive toward inclusive, high-quality vocational training that meets the evolving needs of the economy.
This step positions Jindal Steel as a catalyst for workforce transformation, enabling the creation of a skilled talent pool aligned with emerging industrial and technological demands across the country.
